LIFESPACE landscape design will be active at this years Garden Week at Perry Lakes in a collaboration with Tim Metcalf from Tim's Landscape Art. Tim has designed 'The Retreat', a relaxing chill out space with a roof garden, gabion pillars and a sunken deck complete with cushions for lounging.
The foliage of Lomandras and Pennesetum soften the area, while a trickle of water can be seen flowing from the roof to the pond below. LIFESPACE Landscape Design wins FIRST PLACE in WALDA Display Awards at Garden Week 2010 for 'SUSTAINABLE OASIS'. 14/04/10
At Garden Week this year, 5 WALDA designers created courtyard gardens with the theme of sustainable suburban backyard havens. First Place winner LIFESPACE Landscape Design created 'Sustainable Oasis', a 10 x 5m space with 4 distinct areas to reflect the concept of a livable, sustainable, achievable and waterwise garden sanctuary. The garden was installed with the help of Tony Green from Think Green Landscapes, metal artist Tim Metcalf from Tim's Landscape Art and Jodie Donald from Growing Places Garden Design. The design featured works by local artists such as The Fifth Room, Tim's Landscape Art and Salu Art. LIFESPACE Landscape Design would like to thank all the generous sponsors and people who helped to make this display such a success.
Other designs included ‘Contemporary West' by MJD landscapes and Designs (Second Place), 'Urban Serenity' by Urban Serenity (Third Place), 'Aquaponics with Style' by Jon Tayler Landscapes and Garden Designs, and ‘A Quiet Corner' by Wild at Heart Garden Design. All designers are to be congratulated for a wonderful effort in demonstrating to the gardening public an inspirational range of practical and beautiful ways of achieving sustainable landscapes in small urban spaces.
The Awards were presented by celebrity gardener Graham Ross from Better Homes and Gardens.
